This mainly targets water cups made of TRITAN material and 316 stainless steel material.

Most people do not immediately use newly purchased cups because they feel that the cups produced in the factory are not clean, which is actually a biased idea. The production process of qualified water bottles is carried out in a dust-free workshop, and the temperature and humidity are strictly controlled to prevent contamination of the water bottles. On the other hand, newly purchased cups may experience high temperature, low temperature, humidity, dryness and other environments during transportation. Although TRITAN water cups do not decompose and produce bisphenol A, the packaging bag may produce harmful substances. Therefore, it is also important to carefully clean newly purchased water cups.

Before cleaning the water cup, it can be soaked for a period of time. The following soaking methods are available for reference:

Hot water immersion can be used for several hours. If there are fine particles that will migrate into the water, they can be discharged from the water cup along with the water. The water is neutral and will not cause damage to TRITAN water cups and 316 stainless steel water cups. Hot water is often used as a carrier for testing water cups.

Milk soaking: Milk has strong adsorption properties and can easily absorb various odors and substances from outside. By soaking the cup in milk, harmful molecules can be adsorbed, achieving the effect of cleaning the cup.

Salt water immersion: The reason why salt can remove oil stains is because salt is a crystal, and its chemical name is sodium chloride. Sodium chloride dissolves with water to produce a chemical reaction that has a bleaching effect and can remove stains. And salt solution can sterilize and disinfect. However, it is not recommended to soak water bottles made of 316 stainless steel in salt water.

After soaking the newly purchased cup, disassemble all parts (pay attention to the number of disassembled parts to avoid losing them), apply neutral detergent, and clean it with a soft cup brush. Carefully clean the parts that can be touched by drinking water, such as the inner wall of the cup, silicone plug, sealing ring, etc. For some water cups equipped with straws, the cleaning of the straws cannot be ignored. For the inner wall of the straws, a specialized straw brush can be used for brushing. It is recommended to use hot water for cleaning during the cleaning process. Be careful not to use a hard bristled brush or steel wire ball to brush the cup (for TRITAN water cups, it can easily cause scratches; for 316 stainless steel water cups, it may damage the passivation film on the surface of the cup, making it easy for the cup to rust). Finally, rinse with clean water before use.

Drying: Place in a well ventilated area to dry and avoid direct sunlight. Exposure to sunlight can accelerate aging of TRITAN material water cups and also affect the paint on 316 stainless steel cups.

Caution: Do not put the water cup in the pot for steaming, as this will shorten the service life of the water cup. After cleaning, the relevant components should be installed correctly, otherwise it will affect the sealing and use of the water cup, and the desiccant should be discarded. Remember to cover the water cup after use to prevent dust and bacteria from entering.
